quickie

I'm dropping in for a quick hello. I've updated my page here. I've got new additions (furry babies, that is) - take a peek on the side panel! They are awfully cute, I must say so myself :-). I haven't posted in 7 months. Whew! I'll talk briefly about that in my next post. Have a good evening!

Talk soon!

quick post

I apologize for not being up to speed on blogging and posting. I've been in quite the slump for the past couple weeks. Whether that be family matters, money problems, wacky children, computer issues, and the like, I am in a blue-ish slump and hope to remove myself from it soon. It's been hectic and I haven't really felt wise to enter my "happy place." Here! I hope to be back in tip-top shape as soon as I can b/c I'm tired of being tired. I do have stitchy updates and such, but just don't have the muster to share right now. It's just one of those months, ya know. Talk soon!

stitch-tine chapel

I was sent a fantastic news article from a lovely lady named Margie, via the spectacular Sandy, about the Sistine Chapel, and I'm not talking about any ordinary Sistine Chapel. Check it out. It's amazing!

wow...thanks!

Thank you so much to everyone for leaving a comment and having input on my little dilemma. I agree with everyone about securing the knot and moving on. I'll use my star detailer to secure this bad boy under the more cooperative threads. I appreciate all your feedback. I am so thrilled that all of us agree on this issue. I can't count how many times I wondered what the majority vote would be, but I'm so thankful that my first thoughts were alike.

To answer the question of how Cameron got up there...it's really a mystery. I have no answer, only assumptions. This is where our dishwasher is located. He has a tendency to open the door, pull the drawers out and stand on the spokes to access the top (maybe he's Hawaiian and can run across hot coals). But I'm not for sure. He didn't use a chair, I know that. His father could have very well put him up there and I hope not because that's just giving this little monkey more bad ideas. Like he needs anymore.

Thanks Everyone! Talk soon! I'm off to stitch and secure that knot. Yay!

tornado update...(video)

In my previous post I mentioned that Nashville and surrounding areas were under a tornado warning and watch. While I typed, the tornado siren sounded and I needed to leave the PC. Thankfully, our part of town was safe and untouched. However, there are other areas not so fortunate. In Middle Tennessee we had at least 6 different tornadoes touch down. Below is a link to a city south of Nashville that was devastated by one of the tornadoes. While we were watching the weather report a Murfreesboro resident called into WKRN, News Channel 2 (ABC) saying that he is looking at funnels in the sky and having large hail. He explained where he was and the meteorologists quickly scanned to the Doppler radar and noticed a hook in that exact area he was calling from and they desperately were advising everyone to take cover immediately. At that point, the station intercepted one of Murfreesboro's traffic cams and we watched live the tornado form, touch down and then race across this town. You'll see it on the video. This is Middle Tennessee's third week in a row to experience such weather and we're only in the beginning of our tornado season.

fanks!!!

Awww shucks! I feel so important guys. I want to thank all of you who have emailed me personally and/or left a comment on my "toto?" post. It's nice to feel a concern for and I especially appreciate your concern for the welfare of my children. Thanks for your friendship and stitching companionship! It is much endured in my heart.
Happy Stitching!
[I want to call my cousin, Kari, in Ohio sometime today. She used to be a weather enthusiast (and still might be) and I know she'll want to hear my story first hand. ]

blushing boy

My son, Jose, was completely surprised today when his Papa took him to meet country singer Sarah Buxton. My dad works for Disney's Lyric Street Records and my dad had to stop by while Sarah was working at a local studio. My dad picked Jose up to see a movie and afterwards stopping by dad's office and then heading over to see Sarah. I think Jose fell instantly for her. It is known that she is incredibly nice and sweet, and beautiful too. Here's a snap shot of them together. You can tell Jose is trying to give his most perfect smile...for her sake, or maybe for his sake. LOL

15-month check up

This may be quite some day and I'm going to remain optimistic. Cameron is getting his 15-month vaccinations this morning. We have to leave by 9:00. I hate this part of being a Mama. I hate hearing and seeing my baby in pain. It's all I can do to stop myself from crying, but if I do then he'll be fearful even more. I must remain strong for his sake. I always give him Motrin before he gets his shots so he's a little more comfortable ~ the pediatrician says it is okay to do that so I'm willing to try anything to make it easier on Cameron. I am hoping he will feel okay this afternoon, but we may have a day of aches and pains and crankiness.

I am hoping, if all goes well with Cameron, I will dye my linen with the pomegranate I prepared yesterday. I'm following close instructions and crossing my fingers that the linen will be exactly how I imagined it.

Wish us luck!

quick post

We've had a busy day so far. Cameron fell asleep during breakfast with waffle stuck on his face because he decided to wake up at 6:00 am ~ what is wrong with this child? I cut apart a pomegranate to prepare it for dyeing my linen ~ thanks so much Nancy! Afterwards, we had an appointment with the vet for our dog Chloe to get her stitches removed. Finally, no more visits until shot-time. After the vet we went to the post office to return our Blockbuster rentals. I love renting movies through the mail. I just love movies PERIOD! However, we don't have an account for renting movies through the mail. I received a 30-day free movie trial coupon - take advantage of that? I think YES! Try it out for yourself: Blockbuster FREE one-month trial (enter promo code: education). If it doesn't work, than I am truly sorry for your inconvenience.

Then we went to Michael's and picked up quite a bit of necessaries. Cameron did get a little testy and vocal, but what else is new. But I digress, we made it through without causing too much damage or ruckus. We bought 6 fat quarters and 1 spool of ribbon, eyelets, a bobbin winder, 4 unfinished wood frames for a buck each, faux berries and a brass water pitcher, muslin for doll making, a folk art sign (so darling!), an unfinished wooden cheese board (I have other purposes for this and I'm not tellin'!), 2 unfinished boxes with lids, stock paper, snowmen bells (for Cameron to play with), and last but not least Swedish Fish for me and Cameron to munch on since it was 12:00 and hadn't had lunch yet.

We left Michael's and picked DH up from the office and headed for some Chinese. Yummy in our tummies. Cameron loves rice by the way. We dropped DH back at work and headed for home. Cameron is watching Elmo...again. But he's going from the living room to see Elmo to climbing the chair in the dining room and peering out the window. I have pictures, but I'll have to show you later. We've got to leave now (once again) and pick up BIG brother from school.

I forgot to mention two things...First, we did drop Chloe off at home before we went to Michael's. Second, after reading Mary Kathryn's post about snow in Colorado, I looked out my window and what did my eyes see, but small little pieces of sleet in Tennessee. Ha-ha ~ I'm a poet and didn't know it!!!!!

Keep warm 'cuz it is brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr outside!

blog update

I have added two gadgets to my Blog. You can find them on the side bar. I have set up a direct link to PictureTrails.com where I have photos of my various crafts and pictures of family and other miscellaneous keepsakes. I am still in the process of adding pics so my photo albums are not nearly complete. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy them!

I have added a "Labels" section as well. These quick tabs are direct links to prior posts. This is easier than looking through each and every post I've ever published on my Blog. If you're looking for something specific then this section may serve you better.

Thanks for reading!

quick post

Hi everyone! It's Sunday night, 11:40 and I am bushed. I have so much to tell about Saturday and today. Unfortunately, things didn't go as I had wanted, but some things did go as planned. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that I will post more Monday. I have so much to share.

Nighty-night everyone!
